What is Checkerboard Day, you ask? Well we’ll tell you. It’s a global initiative established by Vans to help champion the power of creative expression.
This year’s Checkerboard Day will focus specifically on the vital role creativity plays in helping individuals and communities address mental health and well-being around the world.
Now, we know you’re thinking “hey, that’s cool and all but everyone says that shit. What is Vans actually doing?” Now, hold on. Hold on. We’ll tell ya!
Vans is supporting 10 charities from around the world whose shared purpose is to use programs focused on creativity as resources for coping with the stressors that impact mental health and well-being, by donating a collective $1 million.
Each of those 10 charities is going to get $100K from The Vans Checkerboard fund to use towards their organization’s mission to improve mental health and well-being.
For more info you can keep refreshing the Vans site to scope out additional updates.
Today is #VansCheckerboardDay & we’re coming together to donate over $1M to organizations that support mental wellness. The donation will support 10 organizations.
