Neil Blender

WHO THE F*CK IS THIS GUY?

By the late 1980s, skateboarding had become a revolution. But before that, there were great skateboarders quietly doing their thing—inventing insane tricks, creating greatness, and leading generations of skateboarders into the future.

One of those early revolutionaries was Neil Blender. Neil stepped away from the spotlight when he felt less connected to the raw skateboarding world he grew up on, but that doesn’t mean he’s any less influential to the skateboarding world. He’s also known for being a major contributor to the art world of skateboarding, influencing whole generations of skateboard designs and artistic styles for artists within the game. In fact, the connection between skateboarders and art can be traced pretty directly back to Neil himself.

Nowadays Gonzales is an artist, director, poet, and author in addition to being an OG skater with sponsorships from just about every major name in skating.

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE.

You might not hear Neil’s name as often as some of the other big-name revolutionaries out there, but that’s only because he decided to step away from the spotlight on his own terms. He’s still quietly influencing the world of skating, just as he did all those years ago.
