Mike Vallely

Skater. Musician. All around badass.

WHO THE F*CK IS THIS GUY?

Mike V, or Mike Vallely if you want to get formal about it, is a skateboarder, music maker, stuntman, actor, you name it. Oh, wait, he’s also the current lead singer of hardcore punk band and skateboard-culture-royalty, Black Flag.

Hailing from New Jersey, V honed his skills on the streets of Virginia Beach before being noticed by Neil Blender—who saw him and his friends killing it in a parking lot across the street from a pro event. From there it was up the mountain, getting featured in Thrasher Magazine, riding for Element Skateboards, and eventually launching his own skateboard company, Street Plant (go buy something!). Their roster includes V himself, Kristian Svitak, and Joey Jett.

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE.

Mike V has been one of the most influential figures not only in the sport of skateboarding itself but in the entire world that surrounds it. He’s been featured in Tony Hawk Pro Skater, performed in some of the skateboarding world’s most loved brands, and is a vocal activist for animal rights and child athletes. How can you not love this guy?
