A Sneaker Drops That Pays Homage to the VX1000

Two German companies have teamed up to pay homage to the iconic VX1000 camcorder in one badass sneaker drop. KangaROOS shoe company and Berlin-based audiovisual creators EASYdoesit linked up to develop a silhouette as timeless as the camcorder itself.

KAngaROOs gave us a little insight into the inspiration for the collab:

The crew around founding father Maxim grew up with the Sony VX1000, so the design of this collabo is an ode to the cameras of their wild youth. The DV tape camcorder, introduced in 1995, has a legendary status in the video scene.

The uppers consist of breathable mesh, combined with black suede and there are 3M details highlights throughout the silhouette. The color choice was born out of “different parts of the VX1000” according to the companies.

The shoe drops tomorrow but you’re going to have some friends overseas if you want to get your hands on a pair. Looks like it’s mainly in-stores over in Europe.
