Ethan K. Singleton: Human Before Skateboarder

Ethan K. Singleton penned an essay that provides a view of the current skateboarding scene in 2020 and how cities, by investing in its future can help build better cultural experiences for all within the community.

In the past, we’ve talked about how skating is transforming cities for the better. Hell, there’s even science co-signed by the Pullias Center at USC that shows how it boosts everything from mental health to resiliency.

Ethan’s essay, Social Study of American Skateboarding, its Policing and Egalitarian Fixes provides a look at what can be done to bring together skateboarders, city planners, and legislators to help create “culturally fluid spaces” where everyone benefits.
